Justice & Rehabilitation
ETS works inside prisons, through the gate, and into employment — giving people with convictions a real route back into the workforce.
Justice & Employment
Accredited vocational training delivered inside custody. CPCS, NPORS, CSCS, first aid, mental health awareness, employability skills — giving people real, recognised qualifications before they leave.
Training on Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL) and continued support as people transition out of prison — keeping momentum going so employment is achievable from day one of release.
Our employment leads work directly with people on release, supporting them into work. Alongside that, we work with employers to open their doors to prison leavers — building the relationships that make real employment possible.
The Evidence
People leaving prison are often the most motivated candidates an employer will ever meet. They've had time to think, time to reflect, and time to decide what they want their life to look like.
When ETS gives them a credible route in, they take it seriously. The evidence is in the retention — our prison-leavers consistently stay in work longer than candidates from other routes.
Our Approach
Every programme we design starts from the same three truths. Ignore any one of them and the training fails. Hold all three together and you get something that actually works — for employers, for learners, and for the communities they're part of.
For Employers
The questions are understandable. Here are honest answers.
The People Behind the Numbers
"For the first time in many years, he no longer feels that his past defines his future."
Mark served a lengthy sentence and left prison convinced his working life was over. He had experience on oil rigs but licensing conditions restricted where he could work post-release. ETS navigated those restrictions, worked their employer network, and secured him a labouring role within weeks — with a confirmed longer-term position lined up as soon as the site opens.
Outcomes
"It killed me — but I loved it so much!"
Ryan served in the military before a medical discharge and a subsequent conviction. He came to ETS with real drive but genuine nerves about whether any employer would take a chance on him. We tailored his CV, worked our network, and supported him through the process — carefully, so he wasn't set up to fail. He received multiple job offers and secured an interview for the London Underground. He sent us a video from his first shift on the track.
Outcomes
For Prison Education & Employment Leads
Whether you're a Prison Employment Lead, Head of Reducing Reoffending, or Head of Education, Skills & Work — you know the gap. Training gets delivered. People get qualifications. Then they leave and the employment outcome disappears.
ETS is designed around what happens after the gate. We work with PELs and education leads to design provision that connects directly to real employers and real jobs — and we stay involved until people are in work.
